▪  Rolls operating manual

□  Roll should prevent any damage during transportation.

□  Roll should be stored in a dry, ventilated room to avoid damp.surface should be covered with rust preventive oil.
□  Before using, should wipe the oil, dirt and rust on surface and then doing conventional inspection, especially carefully check the roll body and roll neck surface in case of defects like nick, indentation, pitting, and crack. Those defective rolls are not allowed to use.
□  Before going into use roll quality card shall be established, register roll number, specification, size and related inspection results, then filed those original records.
□  Installation should be careful enough to avoid scratch or bruising on roll surface.
□  Quality of billet should be carefully checked before rolling, rolling process operation should be strictly obeyed while rolling in order to avoid overload rolling.
□  The hot roll can not accumulate on the wet and cold ground, collision between rolls should be avoided.
□  Establish a roll change repair system, allocate reasonable roll change cycle, matched with corresponding nondestructive test method (magnetic powder, ultrasonic etc), complementary with hardness testing to decide reasonable repair quantity and repair process.
□  During repair on roll, every time the minimum quantity should repair off the tired layer,  the layer depth is usually of 0.15-0.30 mm.
□  While installed new roll (including new repair roll, roll disuse for a period), it should be preheated.
□  The repaired roll need to guard against rust, and prohibited to place on the ground.
□  Record the repairing quantity after each repairing, the rolling steel NO., specifications, rolling quantity, repairing reason (such as normal roll change, different specifications roll change, scratch, peel, sticky steel, crack, etc.).
—— Should select the roll with fitted hardness and roughness according to rolling material, using frequency, rolling reduction, rolling speed etc.
—— Roll neck need have good lubrication and cool-off, prevent overheating to damage the surface. Check mechanical components, prevent the roll abnormal invalidation caused by accidents of equipment.
—— While rolling roll should be cool-off and lubricating enough, prevent the decline of hardness and crack caused by overheating.
—— Rolling should be clean, prevent deflection, folded or mixed with something wrong, prevent corrosion products embedded into metal.
—— Regular maintenance, inspection and monitoring to avoid taking "disease" equipment operation、over-term service. Pay attention about shock, ensure roll working in a good condition.
